About Health Journalists
The first step to getting involved with medical journalism is to gain the knowledge necessary to be proficient both in health and medicine and in journalism. Most medical journalists have either a strong background in journalism or in health. For those with a journalism background, there are several masters’ programs to help gain the knowledge necessary to get into health journalism. For some examples click here. If you come to medical journalism from a primarily scientific background, it would be best to take writing and journalism classes at a local institution.
